I’ve spent most of my career in estate agency—from starting at the bottom in the mid-1980s to running my own multi-branch business with a seven-figure turnover.
I worked my way up through the ranks, eventually becoming an Area Director in London, overseeing 17 branches for a major corporate agency. That role gave me deep insight into how estate agencies operate at scale, how to lead teams, and what truly separates successful businesses from struggling ones.
But I wasn’t content with just managing branches—I wanted to build something of my own.
So, I did what many estate agents dream of: I started my own agency from my dining room table.
Through hard work, strategy, and relentless execution, I scaled it into a multi-branch business with a seven-figure turnover. I also acquired and integrated three businesses along the way.
But let’s be clear—I made mistakes. A lot of them.
I ran into the same problems that trip up most estate agents when they start their own business. I was too involved in the day-to-day, too reactive, and too focused on selling houses rather than building a business.
The difference? I learned from those mistakes. I figured out what worked, what didn’t, and—more importantly—how to fix it.
